Solitaire: how to play
Play solitaire for free: in Klondike, the best-known solitaire, you build every suit from ace to king at the top right. Tap a card and it jumps to the right place by itself. You can drag it, too. Spider and FreeCell are here as well. You do not need to sign up.
The rules in short
On the lower board, stack cards downward, alternating red and black. A red 6 goes on a black 7. Only a king may go on an empty space. A face-down card turns over as soon as the card on top of it has moved.
Draw 1 or draw 3
Tap the pile at the top left to turn a new card. With draw 1, you turn one card at a time. That is calm and a good way to start. With draw 3, three cards turn over at once and only the top one can be played. That is a little trickier. You can go through the pile as often as you like.
Spider Solitaire with 1, 2 or 4 suits
Spider uses 104 cards in ten columns. You stack cards downward, in any suit. But you can only move runs of one suit together. Build runs from king down to ace and they clear away by themselves. One suit is easiest, four suits is hardest. You can only deal a new row when every column has at least one card.
FreeCell: every card is face up
In FreeCell you see every card from the start. Four free cells at the top left each hold one card for later. You stack downward, alternating red and black. Any card may go on an empty column. If enough cells are free, you can move several cards at once. Keep the cells empty if you can, and look first at where the aces are.
Hint button, undo and large cards
“Undo” takes back a move, as often as you like. The hint button marks a possible move and costs 5 coins. In the settings you can make the cards even larger.
The daily deal
The daily deal is Klondike with draw 1. Everyone gets the same deal on the same day. There is a new one every day.
Solitaire questions
- Can every game be won?
- In Klondike with draw 1 and in FreeCell, the game picks a deal for which it has found a way to win. In Klondike with draw 3 and in Spider there is no guarantee.
- Does it cost anything?
- No, playing is free. Coins are play money: you earn them by winning and spend them on hints.
- Do I have to sign up?
- No. Open the page, tap a card and play.
- What is the difference between Klondike, Spider and FreeCell?
- Klondike is classic solitaire, with a pile and four foundations at the top right. Spider builds runs using two decks. In FreeCell every card is face up and four free cells help you sort.
- When does the new daily deal arrive?
- Every day at midnight, your local time.
